✦ TIANMEN MOUNTAIN — MORNING The world's longest passenger cableway (7.5 km, 30 minutes) climbs from downtown Zhangjiajie to the summit at 1,518 m. Up top: a cliff-edge glass skywalk bolted into the rock face at 1,430 m, the Guigu Plank Road along a vertical cliff, and Tianmen Temple — a Tang Dynasty Buddhist monastery on the summit. Descend through the mountain via the world's longest in-mountain escalator to Heaven's Gate, a 131.5-meter natural arch. Optional: 999 steps down instead of the escalator.
✦ GRAND CANYON GLASS BRIDGE — AFTERNOON A 50-minute drive through rural Hunan. The 430-meter glass bridge spans 300 meters above the canyon floor — once the world's highest glass-bottom bridge. 5 cm thick laminated glass panels, straight-down views to the gorge below. Then descend for a 2 km canyon-floor walk past waterfalls, turquoise pools, and karst walls, ending with a boat ride across a jade-green reservoir.
LOGISTICS 9 hours. Hotel pickup from Zhangjiajie city center or Wulingyuan town (Wulingyuan pickups leave ~45 min earlier). Private English-speaking guide and private vehicle. Lunch at a local Tujia restaurant (¥40–80/person, not included). 4–6 km walking on paved paths, escalators and elevators at both sites. Not wheelchair accessible.
