Sichuan

Sichuan is a province in Southwest China; Chengdu is its capital and a main starting point for travel. A Chengdu stay can focus on pandas, food and nearby heritage. Jiuzhaigou and western Sichuan need their own travel days and overnight planning.

As a starting point, we suggest 3–4 days for Chengdu and a selected nearby excursion, or 6–8 days for Chengdu with a Jiuzhaigou extension. A western mountain journey often needs more time. We shape the final duration around arrival times, hotel changes and your preferred pace.

Start with what matters most: Chengdu for pandas and local life; Leshan and Mount Emei for heritage; Jiuzhaigou for lakes and waterfalls; or a focused western route for mountain landscapes. You can select one of the sample itineraries above and tell us what you would change.

A panda visit can be part of a Chengdu stay or a wider Sichuan journey. We will confirm the specific site, tickets and schedule in your itinerary. Viewing is the core experience; animal contact, holding or special-access activities are not implied.

Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System form a UNESCO cultural World Heritage property. They offer different experiences: Taoist mountain heritage and historic water engineering. We can discuss one focused day or a more relaxed combination.

They can form a useful heritage-led part of a Sichuan trip. We suggest allowing an overnight stay when including Mount Emei, with the actual walking, mountain transport and accommodation explained before booking. The UNESCO property includes both scenic areas.

Sichuan cuisine includes a wide range of flavours and preparations. Tell your planner how much heat you enjoy so we can discuss dishes and dining stops with you. Sichuan pepper’s tingling sensation and chilli heat are different parts of the experience.

Share vegetarian or vegan preferences, allergies and other dietary requirements before we plan your food stops. Sauces, stocks and seasonings matter as well as the main ingredients, so the specific requirements need to be checked with each kitchen.

Yes, tell us whether you are interested in tasting, markets, cooking or teahouse culture. These can shape a Chengdu stay or be added to a wider Sichuan itinerary. Your proposal confirms the host, language support, tastings or meals, duration and price; cooking sessions depend on availability.

We plan Jiuzhaigou as a separate overnight extension, with time for the journey and the park. The transport connection and the transfer to your hotel are separate parts of the day. Your itinerary will specify where you meet the driver or guide and where you stay.

They are separate scenic areas. Jiuzhaigou is known for its lakes, waterfalls and forested valleys; Huanglong is known for its travertine pools and mountain landscape. Combining them needs separate visiting time and consideration of altitude and conditions.

We identify the overnight locations, higher sections, walking time and available scenic transport for the proposed route. Tell us your comfort with walking and long transfers before choosing a highland journey. A scenic visit and a trek require different plans.

We would plan it as a dedicated highland journey or a carefully considered extension. It should have its own travel and walking time; we do not automatically append it to a short Mount Siguniang or Chengdu itinerary.

The city, mountain valleys and highlands have different conditions. Choose the experiences you want first, then discuss the route for your travel month. Scenic colours, snow and clear mountain views depend on location and weather.

The route may use a private vehicle throughout or combine rail with private transfers. We explain each travel segment and where your guide joins you. A private journey does not automatically mean that scheduled trains or park shuttle buses are private.

We discuss suitable alternatives and the practical flexibility of the itinerary. Changes depend on local conditions and the services already booked; any cancellation or refund terms are stated with the product or quotation.

English-speaking guiding can be requested for the itinerary. The proposal will specify which days and locations include a guide, whether the same guide travels with you, and which transfers are driver-only. We confirm the arrangements for your dates before booking.

Tell us the ages in your party, walking preferences, room needs and any important dietary requirements. We can then discuss fewer hotel changes, shorter sightseeing days and suitable route choices. Mountain itineraries need individual consideration.
