New Chitose Airport to your hotel

Check in and take a break

Check in at the hotel’s usual time. Early room access is subject to availability; ask about luggage storage if you arrive sooner.

Dinner close to your hotel

Rest after the flight or make your own plans nearby. Dinner and independent travel are at your own expense; no guide or vehicle is on standby.

Private drive to Otaru

Leave Sapporo with your guide and driver. Departure and stop lengths allow for winter traffic rather than a fixed sightseeing timetable.

The canal and Sakaimachi

Walk the canal and warehouse district, then continue to Sakaimachi for glassware, music boxes and confectionery. Your guide connects the port’s trading past with the streets you see today.

Shopping and tastings are optional and paid locally.

Choose lunch in Otaru

Ask your guide for seafood or non-seafood suggestions near the route. Lunch is at your own expense.

A heritage stop suited to the conditions

The former Temiya railway is an outdoor possibility only when access and footing are suitable. Otherwise, agree an indoor heritage or craft stop with your guide.

Any paid alternative is confirmed before entry. Seasonal illuminations are not guaranteed.

Back to Sapporo

Return by private vehicle, allowing extra time for snow. Spend a second night in the same hotel; dinner is independent.

Nijo Market and Hokkaido Shrine

Browse the market’s food stalls before visiting the shrine’s forested setting. Walks are shortened or adjusted on icy paths; purchases and tastings are your choice.

Lunch before leaving the city

Choose a local lunch with guide suggestions and pay directly. There is no fixed restaurant or menu in the starting itinerary.

Continue to Jozankei

Travel into the onsen valley by private vehicle. A short outdoor pause may be possible on maintained, open paths near the inn; no winter park or river trail is guaranteed accessible.

Snowshoeing is a separately arranged activity, not an included ordinary walk.

Check in for baths and dinner

Settle into your Jozankei inn for shared hot-spring bathing and the proposed included Japanese dinner. The property, room and meal arrangements are confirmed before booking.

Private bathing, tattoo policies, dietary requirements and mobility needs must be checked with the selected property.

Breakfast and check-out

Have breakfast at the inn and check out. Confirm the route with your driver against the flight time, snowfall and road restrictions.

Lake Shikotsu, if practical

When conditions allow, pause beside the lake for a short walk and a warm-up break. This is not a boat trip or a guaranteed ice-festival visit.

Lake access and departure timing take priority. The stop may be shortened or omitted; festival entry is separate.

Private transfer to New Chitose Airport

Continue to the airport with the check-in buffer agreed for your flight. An evening departure gives more room for the lake stop, but does not guarantee it.
